OPEN YOUR EYES
TO DOMESTIC ABUSE
IN SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES
We are campaigning for compulsory consent and relationship workshops to be implemented in all UK schools and universities. Facing abuse at any age is extremely difficult, it can be particularly confusing for young people who are beginning to engage in relationships for the first time. It is important for students to be educated and empowered on topics surrounding abuse, consent, and relationships as they enter adulthood which is why Open Your Eyes host workshops in schools and universities to promote awareness.
It is important for schools and universities to cultivate an environment where victims of domestic abuse feel comfortable and supported throughout the reporting and disciplinary process. Unfortunately, in a lot of cases victims do not have the right to be informed of the outcome of investigations due to GDPR regulations. Open Your Eyes is also campaigning for victims to have the right to be fully involved in investigations, so that they can be informed of the outcome for the sake of their safety.
